The backstory to The Adventures of Amos

What began as a silly, lighthearted poem written to encourage friends in church choir, quickly took on a life of its own. That little spark was all it took to bring Amos to life—a delightfully curious church mouse with a huge heart—and he is absolutely thrilled to finally meet you!

I completely fell in love with this little guy's adventurous spirit, and before I knew it, hours of brainstorming soon turned into days of writing, which stretched into weeks and months of joyful editing...but I treasured every single moment of it. When I shared his tales with loved ones, seeing their faces light up made me realize that Amos’s stories simply had to be shared with the world. Every single one of Amos’s tiny mousey adventures is wrapped in gentle, uplifting lessons that soothe the soul. At its heart, this is the book I wish I had on my shelf growing up. These stories teach the very lessons I had to learn the hard way, through trial and error. My hope is that you can treat these stories as stepping stones—using them to cross the very same hurdles that were once my stumbling blocks.  I truly hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as I loved bringing them to life, and I hope Amos brings a little extra sunshine, joy and cozy inspiration into your home!

Amos the mouse stepping into a painted jungle of ferns
meet amos

A small mouse with a wide sky

“A whisker of courage, a thimble of dreams —
one little mouse, and a world full of seams.”

Amos tiptoes through cathedrals and clockworks, jungles and starlit skies — proof that the bravest hearts often come in the smallest coats.

Brave

Amos walks into ferns taller than steeples and dares to whistle anyway.

Curious

He polishes gears, peers into pocket-watches, and asks the obvious questions twice.

Tender

He stands in colored light and listens — to bells, to crumbs, to friends.

Adventurous

He hoists a thimble of sail and points his small boat toward the horizon.

Daring

He leaps from castle towers with a parachute stitched from moonlight.

Inventive

He sketches treehouses and waterwheels, drafting small wonders for his friends.

Intrepid

He scales ivy-clad ruins to peek through forgotten windows over the sea.

Watchful

Sully keeps an eye on the storm-drain world, one raindrop at a time.

Cozy

Back at the lair, a fire, a leather couch, and a well-earned nap.

From the author

I'm a self-publishing author who fell in love with the rhythm of story-poems — the way one good line can carry a whole world. The Adventures of Amos is my slow, hand-made love letter to small readers, big imaginations, and the quiet courage of starting again every morning.
